Is it possible to restrict workbenches to a specific pawn? That would lower zone micromanagement effort significantly...

You could actually lower or raise the skill so that only one certain colonist met the parameters. That is already in the base game.

that's again very much micromanagement effort - and that way I can't handle the colonists as good as with zones, because it happens very often, that two or more of my colonists have the same skill level.
