Hey y'all. I made a few sprites via Paint, but after I saved 'em and brought 'em up in-game, the sprites retained a white background. Any ideas why this happened? Pardon this dumb question. Thanks for the help!

You need to save them as a PNG file with a transparent background. I recommend using a program like GIMP.

technically the transparency color should be black. A quick shortcut many people use is to give the entire thing a 1% opaque black overlay, which works fine in photoshop and any other editing software I know of.

You need to have a transparent background for your sprites! Paint doesn't do transparency, so I'd recommend GIMP, paint.net, Photoshop etc. GIMP and paint.net are free, and you can get the CS2 suite free from adobe and it should be more than enough to do what you want! Or, if you're still having issues, I can always fix 'em up for you if you want.

Oh, okay! I'll try using another program then; thank you all for the help!
