I feel like this game is trying to kill me...

>Playing Randy rough, Permadeath, jungle.
>3 Year colony 14 colonist
>Nothing has happen past 2 days
>overjoyed.jpg
>6 colonist get plague (2 of them are my growers)
>Think "No biggie I got 40 Medicine in stock"
>Next day 8 colonist get flu..
>"eh, I got enough tribal medicine"
>Low on food and medicine
>blight with 6 colonist getting sleeping sickness
>full time medicine production
>say to myself sarcastically "Now all I need is muscle parasite"
>Randy laughs
>5 colonist get muscle parasite... + Raid
>"WHY?"
>defends without casualties
>Only raw food is left...
>poison ship
>leave it alone
>9 colonist in hospital, some with 1 disease, others with 2
>2 go beserk
>both get beaten up by the 7 others, one dies
>rage.jpg
>raid follows
>extremerange.jpg
>friendlies
>1 person with a pistol
>...
>Use doomsday rocket
>INSTANT WIN
>healthy colonist frantically gathering food
>Unhealthy bedriddened
>future full of uncertainty...

This all happened over 3 days. what I learned from this is that Randy can sometimes be a real jerk, LIKE COULD YOU JUST NOT INFECT MY COLONY WITH ALL THE DISEASES OVER THREE DAYS!?
This game is very fun at times

Randy is like getting mad at the roll of a dice. He does not love, nor hate you. He is random.

That is an unfortunate series of events though, I must say..
The only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down.

Sleeping sickness is pretty slow, you could have those colonists run around and get some work done...
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.

ahhh, I just presumed it was deadly because immunity was taking a while to pass the disease percentage. Thanks for telling me.

Cassandra is the definition of brutalisation, Phoebe is (apparently) the definition of (ironically) harder brutalisation, and Randy is the definition of pleasurable drugs (e.g. smokeleaf, yayo)

Once played a Randy game as tribals. Got a few early raids, but then went two full game years with no raids. Got complacent, had no researchers so researched VEEEERY slowly.

By the time the raid came, I'd amassed enough wealth for it to be enormous, with triple rocket launchers, incendiary cannons, what have you. Meanwhile, since my tech was low and I had very few low level raiders to plunder from, only half of my 15 or so tribals had firearms. Needless to say I got rolled, I think I barely killed any of them.
