Hi Folks,
I'm new here, I'm Acies and I'm here straight from Steam. Rimworld is a fantastic game with a nice graphic-style and a fetching game-play!
But sometimes the area seems to be inanimate, especially if there are no animals or Raiders. So I would like to suggest to add some clouds. If there was such thing in the game or a similar topic I apologize.

Some gif I made:

clouds would be nifty...but fogging or obscuring the map that we need to see in order to play would be obnoxious...

Neotic

interesting graphical idea, i would like to see it in game.

i don't think the clouds would obscure the map at all if they're done like the way he showed in the imgur

I don't think neither that the map would be to obscured to spot important things. The gif was also only a try to illustrate the idea. Maybe the clouds would be more blandly or in smaller quantity. But it would be very nice to see the weather changing from low cloudy and sunny to dark and stormy :)

The clouds in the GIF were pretty neat, but if that was going on over the whole map, i think i might get a bit motion sick...

I would assume the movement would be a lot slower in-game; The example would need to be sped up sufficiently to show the effect in a short gif.

What I had envisioned when I read this is different than what I saw whey I clicked your gif. I like this idea though.

I was thinking about clouds that would momentarily obscure the view but only when the camera was scrolled all the way out. Then when you zoomed it it could be something like the OP.

Yes, you are right. Too fast clouds would be very stressful for the eyes/player so the cloudpatterns should travel slower.
Maybe the shadows have to be more faintly to image weather subliminal.

The idea with scrolling out to see full clouds is funny, but I think you would do this only one time, because the obscuring could be to annoying.
