how to deal with a shattered pelvis

Hidy ho all,

I accidentally recruited a captured prisoner, who has a shattered pelvis.

Now I have a useless colonist, just using up food.  Can I cure a shattered pelvis?  Or is he only good as a organ donor?

There is no cure for death by snoo snoo. 
At least he died with a smile on his face and a cigarette in his mouth.

ha!  I wish that'd be the case, I'd feel less bad.  No, his group attacked us, and I caught him point black with a chain shotgun.  1 shot and he went down.  I didn't think to check to see if he could walk before I recruited him.

Can I do anything else with him?

Lungs, Kidney, & Liver as well.  But I'd rather use him if I could.

I just euthanized him.  Anesthetized him, then euthanized him.

I like to put the "permanently downed" colonists into an ancient cryptosleep casket until it's time to launch the ship. But that's just me.

I think you need a mod for that - EPOE is the big one.
In vanilla there are many conditions you just can't do much about.

In vanilla I think you will just have to put them down (or if evil harvest their organs and meat for resources). I wonder what would happen if you sold them as a slave... they can't get up and move after all =P

I also like to run with DE surgeries which let's you have a way of curing stuff like permanent scars via operation if you have a good doctor and proper medicine - but of course no operation is without risk...
