After watching hours of youtube videos, it occurred to me that why not set some type of "combat mode" which you can activate during an attack which will essentially enlist all of your colonists. However, instead of just enlisting, your able to have a separate overview menu in which you can prioritize between different tasks during a raid such:

  • combat (those who will engage the enemy)
  • building (those who will repair turrets and sandbags or other defensive structures during the battle)
  • healing (those who will heal the wounded during the battle)
And disable certain task such as:

  • sleeping
  • eating
  • hauling
  • etc.
Ive seen in videos in which they un-enlist a colonist to repair a turret and the colonists will fix it for a second and try and get some food or go to bed and passing through the middle of the fire fight. So by adding this mode it'll cause the battles to becomes more fluid with less pausing and unpausing, unless we absolutely need to intervene, and every colonist will be able to contribute to the colonies defense.

It'll also allow interesting combat scenarios, imagine your fighting off a raid and your down to only two colonists, one of them shooting at the raiders and taking hits, while the other trying to keep him alive by healing him, and them two are able to successfully fend off the attack!
