"Couldn't change the screen resolution"

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I really want the game to work for me.

Every time I try to start the game on steam, I get the error message Couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution."
Under details, it says:
Switching to resolution 0x0 failed, trying lower one
Switching to resolution 0x0 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: could not switch resolution (1024x1280 fs=1 hz=0)

I have already tried everything in top Support thread by Tynan. I running windows 10

Please help.

I have this same issue and can't get it figured out. I've tried everything I have been able to find that's been suggested but no luck. I get the same error except my resolution is 1920x1080. I am running in Steam.

Sorry if this has been addressed before but I don't know what to do. Just bought the game yesterday and nothing I try seems to work. Super bummed! This game looks like so much fun.
