Permadeath Mode issues?

Hi there, I'm a newbie here. What I want to talk is permadeath( commitment mode) and I'm a big fun of it. But it confuses me that when all my people dead, and I click "main menu", the game state won't be saved to the autosave slot. Which means I can still load game and back to the beginning of my last day, to avoid the all-dead-situation. I think this is not the mode should to be. My suggest is when clicking "main menu", the game saves, leaving me enjoying the dead-and-peace moment.
