I've discovered that my colony had found an ancient danger, so i set up a little defense sorrounded by walls in front of my base, i built doors and walls around the ancient danger's corner to protect my colonist. When i destroyed the wall, i saw 1 centipede and 1 scyther.

I lead the scyther to my defenses surrounded by walls, and managed to killed it, but i didn't lead nor killed the centipede. And i keep on failing cause my colonists got downed but didn't get killed.

Any tips on how to do it? Or i don't have to lead it?

Just wait until it wanders into the open, then kite it around the map with greatbows or something.

This. Centipedes are easily outranged. It's when they are backed by lancers the threat becomes real. 1 centipede is free resources.
