Do Colonists get used to certain things?

Hey all, I've been playing Rimworld for a little while now with 1 successful escape and 3 failures and was wondering; can colonists get used to certain things? If you continue to cannibalize, do they stop being depressed by it? If you sell enough prisoners do people stop being sad about it? You get the idea here, I haven't played enough to find out myself just yet and was curious if anyone else had noticed anything about it. Also yay first post.

Yay for a first post!

They won't get used to anything, or ever get fed up just eating potatoes every day for three years
atleast not now. But I don't know if there's any future plans for that kind of stuff!

If you want to have cannibal colony you'll just have to be very picky about your recruits
(Cannibals and just really sanguine/optimistic colonists) =P
It'd be a nice challenge in itself, to try manage one of those

Well poo, maybe it ssomething to be added in the future then. Increasing tolerance to certain things would be kind of neat, harden your colony to the effects of weather and cannibalism among other things. You could be the crazy people living in a cave and eating people!

Ok, this needs to be settled once and for all. If I chop up a tribal, and put the bits in the Nutrient Paste Dispenser, does it still inflict the mood penalty for cannibalism?

What if I block the line of sight to the hopper and use a mute hauler for the task when everyone else is sleeping, will he still snitch about it? Will the others know? "Heeey. This tastes like human..."

It could be interesting if the upcoming neurotrainer addition could be used to develop tolerances.

I would like to see this in the way of colonists getting used to seeing dead bodies or watching pirates die in a raid. I think that it's probably in work or at least planned, but it would make the colonist AI seem to learn more than just have the same thoughts about seeing something they see every day.

Maybe the neurotrainers could have side effects that give traits- you learned how to cook more, but it's given you the taste for human flesh....
