Modding corpses to be treated as regular food such as meals etc?

Context; I made a xenotype via various gene mods that mirrors the Troglodyte from Dungeons & Dragons, carnivorous reptilian humanoids with the intelligence of a brick. ;D They don't know the first thing about cooking.

So playing normally and setting food restrictions to corpses only, I noticed no colonist would actually go for food until they reached 40% malnutrition. I tested this again in a quick devtest and the behavior was the same. I presume this was intended to mirror the 'I eat anything in an emergency' idea during harsh survival scenarios.

I'm a bloody beginner when it comes to modifying RimWorld but I am willing to put some sweat in to learn. How can I modify this to make colonists go for corpses like they would for meals though?

I believe this is something you can set using the Ideology DLC by creating a custom religion. If you do not have that DLC then the alternative is to either find a mod on the steam workshop that suites your needs or to begin the lengthy process of learning to code, which is not as easy as downloading one someone already made.
