Yes you saw right, Jack-O-Lanterns. So i was looking for mods and realised that there wasn't any that had a hint of Halloween in them. So i made one!

Current Features :
  • Pumpkins!
  • Growing Pumpkins!
  • Jack-O-Lanterns that light up those pesky raiders before you shoot em in the face (Colonists have finally learned how to control fire!)
  • Heart-warming Pumpkin Pie!
  • A brand new giant pumpkin turret that launches boomrat stuffed pumpkins that explode! (not sure about the balancing, could use some feedback)
  • (NEW) Halloween weapons! Decapitate son raiders with a scythe of evicerate them with a chainsaw. (im very sory for lack of chainsaw sounds. I couldn't figure out how)
  • (NEW) PUMPKIN HAT!!!! And a more powerfull version of it...
  • More Pumpkins!
  • (NEW) Decent sized pictures!






Upcoming (VERY SOON)
  • Throwing Weapons!(one of the sprites for them is already in the file...can you guess what it will be?)
  • CANDY!
  • Costumes! (mabye) (see below)



FOR THE COSTUMES
After, I had finished making the code for the costumes i started making the sprites/images for them...and realised that i seriously suck at making clothing sprites. They were so horrible they would have made a grown man cry. So i need YOUR help for the costumes. If you want to see a halloween costume added all i need is the sprite for it and it will get added. Your will get full credit for the sprite. Seriously i'll put your name as big and colourful as this forum will let me.


As of now you may have realised now this is a small mod, but there where so many "Firsts" involved that i could not afford bigger. As this i my First mod i am open to suggestions. If there is wanting i may add to this by adding more halloween themed things like weapons(almost), costumes and mabye a giant pumpkin turret that launches boomrat stuffed pumpkins that explode.



Changelog:
  • V1.3 : Melee weapons added, pumpkin helmet and its powerfull big brother added.
  • V1.2 : Pumpkin Mortar added. Its faster to reload and has slightly greater accuracy than normal mortar.
  • V1.1 : Pumpkin pie with moral boost added. Changed Jack-O-Lanterns so that they don't use power anymore.

Disdisclaimer : (i think that makes it a claimer but i won't get started on language(i'm french)) you may do what ever the hell you want with this. Such as, but not limited to : using it, destroying it, integrate it in your program to take over the world and other such delightful activities.

I like it. My only criticism is that the pumpkins look a bit yellow on my monitor. And the faces on the Jack-o-lanterns are a bit hard to see. This may be due to my video settings, I don't know. But I figured I'd let you know anyway.

I'd love to see a ghost costume or something the colonists can wear. Also, there are a couple mods out there that have lights that don't require a connection to the power grid. You might check them out to figure out how to power your jack-o-lanterns without a cord sticking out of them. Immersive Rim is one of them. There is also another that I think does this called More lights (I think, my Advanced Lamps mod does not contain this feature though).

And another suggestion for additional features is to make a recipe on the cook stove that uses pumpkins to make a pumpkin pie which adds a happy thought when eaten. Or you could add another cook stove type item specifically for baking pies and whatever other goodies you can think of to use pumpkins for. Maybe a baking oven.

Take the DLL I have attached and drop it in an "assemblies" folder (check any other mod for structure) inside your mod, then change your "compGlower" to "compGlowerX", like this:

change the 1st 3 digits in the glowColor for your RGB (the last ones transparency, leave it 0).

Voila you should have lighting without needing power.

I've got costumes that are in the making which should be ready soon. I like the idea with the pie, i'll get on it!

Awesome! In the next update it would be awesome if you could add like skeletons and other hallowen stuff.Keep up good work because this mod got potential!

i got the .xml for it... excect my sprite was... um... lets say... very very bad, and that is being nice to it.

Well pumpkin hats seem strangely hard to draw
(trust me I tried just now infact! - didn't quite turn out how I pictured it =P Imma try again tomorrow I think If you don't hear from me it means I couldn't do it any will avoid you for the rest of my life and pretend nothing ever happened)

Edit: tis' the best I could do, feel free to use and/or abuse them
The rimworldian pawns did not take wearing pumpkin as a hat into account when their heads adapted to the local athmosphere
(Or someone just refused to draw from the correct angle)
