Seeking savegame files from 3+ year games

I've heard talk of performance degradation after long games.

To investigate this, I could use some savegames from very long games.

If you have played a game lasting 3+ years, I'd be very happy if you could zip up the map and world files and post links here.

Thanks in advance.

What about saves with mods involved?
(Haven't really played 3+ year games after alpha 6 without any mods in them)

I have one to test with now. Others are good but not need to slave away at it if you don't happen to have one.

Feirfec - if you go into the options menu, you can click to open the saves folder. The world folder is a sibling of the saves folder.

Hey, here is my 3 year save, haven't noticed any strange performance yet.

aww.. i used EdB's prepare carefully mod ever since i found out about it (coz it's just so awesome..), my older unmodded save files have long since been deleted.. my current save files all have EdB's mod active. :-\

anyways, speculation : from my playthroughs, the lag i tend to get is mostly coz of all the corpses and the amount of raiders, colonists, visitors all at the same time.. so when pawns try to path and then each of these pawns get mood penalties from seeing the corpses, etc.. the sudden spike tends to cause lag.. (at least from my experience)

also, when i try to buy and sell a lot of items with individual graphics (ie : weapons, armors, bionics, etc) the sudden spike of items removed from screen + drop ships spawned + new items spawned sometimes crashes me to desktop or lags heavily. (that's why i save first before trading)

though these lags tend to happen most of the time when i have other apps running in the background.. so i'm guessing that's a bigger factor to consider.. lol.

The only real performance issues I've seen are either the issue with fire that was cropping up now and then - which I've not seen in some time, or late game raids with a ton and a half of pawns all starting logic at the same time when they spawn causing a lag spike. Afraid I don't have any vanilla saves that old now, deleted all my testing ones once it went to release and running a couple mods since.

Listy

I got a couple, but they're from the previous build, both are large colony's.

I've got one from this build, but the story teller was just pummelling me so I've had to drop it down to minimal, and the colony isn't actually that big.

here is a colony in March on 3th year

No one plays the game normally now days.  xP  It's always modded.
Click to see my steam. I'm a lazy modder who takes long breaks and everyone seems to hate.

I have a save game from year 4, unfortunately it's crashed to a black screen on loading. So I don't know if it will do any good for you. I posted about it yesterday in the bug threads.

I can confirm this is a thing. i have a modded and un-modded game in year three and four and there is serious lag spikes and crashes.
