How to change Map Generator?

the old alphas allowed you to change the map generation , ie place more geysers , remove them, add more trees etc

the mod / map generator has been removed. Is there a way to change this now?

Thats called DEV mode, its in the options then after that in-game icons will appear at the top right area that you can click
