I have installed ideologies only. Started a new game, got the first part of the "retrieve relic" quest - The text (which itself shows a lot of placeholder variables) reads: "We send you a shuttle...." - unfortunately no shuttle is coming, since no Royalties is installed

i usually use seed 8887 to generate a planet with a very cold spot to play with the icesheet mod. after installing A9 i noticed, that the lowest (january-) temperature on coldest spot on the map went up from -101.5°C (A8) to around -80.6°C. In addition the altitude of the map went down from ~5500m to ~4800m.

Was the planet-generation algorithm changed deliberately?

Ideas / Fertilizer Pump

just saw in the changelog that it was cutted  :(

suggestion:
make it similar to the nutrient paste dispenser - you have to feed the pump to make it work.

like: add stuff which is capable to rot (food/corpses) and as soon as the timer from "fresh" to "rotten" runs out, instead of status changing (corpses) or deletion (food) just transform the stuff into a defined amount of fertilizer. A number of fertilizer is then used to make one (of the 25) fields to "earth"

This would slow the stuff down and make it temperature-dependent.

Noticed yesterday, that the prices for several goods have changed. In addition most traders do not accept clothing anymore. Question here is: what will be the colonys primary source of income (apart from looting/harvesting bandits/tribals/sleepers?)

Ideas / Person-dependent research & teaching system

Many, if not most games have a quite simple research system:
- one or several people are locked in a place for some time
- when the research is done, wham!, everybody has an epiphany

How about the idea to tie the researched receipes to the colonist who did the research?
Every colonist should have a sort of copy of the whole possible research receipes and using a research table would add the points to the researched technology, but only for this particular colonist. As soon as the researching colonist has developed a new technology, he can then start to teach it to his fellow colonists.
Combined with the actual skill-system of Rimworld this would lead to some neat side-effects:
- losing your researcher/teacher would hurt you a lot more.
- adding a skill "teaching" would lead into different kinds of personalities, e.g. a guy who can research fast, but is very bad at teaching - or - he knows how to build the fertilizer-thrower, but refuses to do it himself

further along the road: you could add skills to your colony by a lucky drop or a lucky trade with the slaver.

even further: one could restrict certain colonists from researching stuff. Or would you ask the Farm Oaf to invent a Fusion Engine?

I do not perceive the behaviour as a bug. The survivor runs around, eats supplies and if his mood falls too low, eventually departs.

on the other hand he is perfectly easy zu capture: just wait for him to fall asleep  ;)
