I discovered this game from a popular twitch streamer. It looked awesome then so I bought it and have played many, many hours since.

Awkward silence.
Someone once told me that it's not awkward till someone points it out.

Ideas / Re: Different Bills for Different Types of Stone Bricks.

But is there not already the option to make Blocks out of the material of choice?
When you create the "Make Stone Blocks" bill, click on details. From there choose what type of chunks you want them made from.
Repeat for as many types of blocks you want. You can even play with the distance setting so your pawns do not walk across the map just to pick up a chunk.

Grow cotton and let him made cloth.
In the vanilla game you get cloth straight from the cotton plant. No crafting required.

Grow wood and let him made wood weapons.
This would also work well.

You could have him exclusively make stone blocks. As long as you have the chunks there is always a use for stone blocks.

Just so you know, you can make a room up to 12 wide and infinitely long without it ever collapsing. When you move to 13 wide or bigger is when you have problems.

Skissor found an exploit that is pretty much farming insects. It produces a constant supply or jelly and meat. Feel free to check it out.

It's an interesting idea. I've also thought of family members during raids and such. If you were to capture somebody's daughter or brother you think you would be more likely to recruit them into your colony.
