I find that the place I have always experienced the most friction when starting a game of rimworld is, well, starting it. Randomized pawns (I know there's a mod for that, but its still not a great system), building ideologies, and now the extra layer of startup complexity with the new Biotech expansion is too much to shove in your face when you try to start up a new game. We are already able to download startup scenarios through the steam workshop, why not expand scenarios and allow them contain pre selected pawns, ideologies, and the stuff that's in biotech? I feel like this would make the game far more accessable, especially for a lazy ass like myself.

I don't know why nobody thought of this earlier, this game would be perfect for a Dune mod. Someone please make a dune mod. Just look up some of the artwork and read the book, Rimworld really is the perfect fit for a dune mod.

Ideas / Mechanoid mode

In this mode, you'd have control over three or four mechanoids with two goals, start a self replicating mechanoid hive and kill everything. Right from the start you'd be under attack almost constantly, so you'll need to build a repair station to stay alive. Once a day, you'll receive an AI persona core, you'll get one more each day you survive. You can use the AI cores to build new mechanoids or build new buildings like a psychic crazyfyer to mess with the heads of your attackers. You'll also be able to mechanize corpses. This would have more of a psychological affect on your attackers as they'd be very weak.

To achieve the first goal, you'll need to build a core mine to gather a near endless amount of iron, then build a ridiculous amount of builder bots that will automatically build steel flooring across the map and kill anything biological. Then you'll need to build an AI core assemblers then a bunch of mechanoid factories.

To achieve the second goal you just need to build a lot of those psychic drones to drive everyone in the world to insanity, then they start killing each other off.

When you finish building your death robot factories and everyone in the world is dead or insane, you win!

I'm not too sure if any of this is achievable in the game, but I just wanted to get my idea out there.

Ideas / Game demo to help reduce piracy

When i first heard of this game, I wasn't sure if it was for me, and i didn't want to spend money on a game i wouldn't enjoy so i pirated it just to see what it was like. If rimworld had a demo people wouldn't be forced to pirate it to see ifthe game is for them. For the demo you wouldn't need to put like a 50 day limit on the current build, you can just release alpha 3. Alpha 3 i think is really when rimworld became what it is today with the factions and not just being able to snatch every pawn that passes by. Alpha 3 would also let people try out the mods which are one of the best things about rimworld.

I know that wealth affects how many raiders will attack, but im wondering if it also affects the amount of traders and visitors that pass by also.

It was 3 am on a friday, and pauleen marois with her companion Megatron have finally completed the ultimate weapon to kill all the people that wont vote for her. The LASER CAT.

MOAHAHAHAHA NOW NOTHING WILL STAND IN THE WAY OF THE PQ yelled pauleen marois.
"Megatron, prepare the rois for a final assult and i will load all the cats on to the blimp" orderd pauleen. Finally, she thought, after 2 attempts at taking over the world this one will finally succeed. She got on the PQ forklift and got the crates of cats loaded on the bomb bay of the PQ blimp.

As the last of the rois (pauleen's foot soldiers) got on the blimp the pilot powerd up the hyper flux drive capacitor and the thrusters of the blimp and lifted it out of the hanger of the PQ's secret base just north of the magical city of montreal.

As they approched the mall that they had so many battles at pauleen orderd the rois to jump down and fight while she prepared her mech. As she got into her freshly made pauleen 3000 she orderd megatron to transform into his pistol. She grabed megatron and a box of laser cats and loaded the cannon of the pauleen 3000 with as many as she could fit and launched down into the firey depths of the mall. As she landed in the mall most of her troops were already dead, but thats not supriseing when your troops have the aim of a drunk storm trooper.
"SCREECHHH" she turned to her left and there was a group of Mexicans on raptors to her right were a bunch of red necks with big guns behind her there was the guys who knew judo and had swords and on top of here were the ninja cops inside of the teams flying cargo ship. Youll lose like always one of them said she proceeded tofireing the laser cats  but it was no use they were pissed off at her and blew up her mech with lasers her head on the mech acted as an escape pod and carried both her and megatron back on her blimp.

THE END

This is my 3rd short story about megatron and pauleen marois teaming up. If you would like to see the first 2 please tell me.

Ideas / psychologists

Some times i get tired of my colonists going on mental rampages because of some aftermath of a huge raid combined with a psychotic drone and then i see my prisoners getting boosts on they're mood from one of my colonists about to go on a mental break and i thought: why cant wardens or doctors double as a psychologist.

Im thinking that when somone is about to go on a mental break they go to a table and a doctor or warden will come and brighten their mood! By giving them space tacos or space vodka (because i doubt that any of your colonists are trained psychologists)

In this ending you get to such a high technology level that your colony transcends,  but i dont know if it would work partly because your sharing the planet with pirates and nomads. Does the whole planet have to be involved with the transcendence? Or just your colony.

After being on the forums for a few months im quite impressed, not one time did i see someone write "DUDE YOUR A F***ING NOOB"or stuff like that. Even if the idea is a bad idea the forum members explain why and don't just say its stupid.

I think it would be a cool twist if a huge raider party lands you can send out a bunch of reprogramed mechanoids and tamed pets to kill them. It would need extra balancing (lots) so maybe raiders can land with a couple of mechs too it would make this game have even epicerr battles and the days of the turret would be over...

You know how sometimes you recruit a colonist and under the charecter tab it will say for example tunnel world miner or medieval noble, maybe you could start a colony but be stuck in a medieval technology level (along with the whole world) and have certain traits that are better than just a vanilla colony. Like medieval fun time land could have stronger walls but stuck in a horse drawn world. Or tribal colonies have crap buildings But lots of food production and A CRAP TONNE OF COLONISTS and all un armed colonists have a hand full of stones if unarmed. Even a cave world colony would be cool. These colonists get scared when out in the light but nice in a cramped dark cave and have super fast mineing. But what they mine doesent seem to cave in...

Well those are more of my ideas sorry for bad grammer.

In this mod weapons could be very rare and fighting will be melee based. When raiders attack they will have to fight in an arena, and if they win the proper amounts of mortal kombats you lose
