General Discussion / crashed pod survivors

hi all, returning to RW after a year or so and i'm remembering what a brilliant game this is.

a small question, am I missing something or is there no way to treat the survivors who crash in escape pods where they land?
the only right click options are usually rescue / capture etc. but there is no 'treat' option I can see.
when someone is going to die in 5 hours and its a 4 hour walk to the victim and back, it is sometimes close!
this also applies to people downed in other areas of the map (i.e. far away from your base)

i had the idea of creating a medical sleeping spot right next to the injured person and then rescue them to that bed 1-2 squares away, so you can treat them there?
but the rescuer would still have to go back to the base for medicine?

any suggestions?

Ideas / ICE SHEET - build walls using ice

the title says it all

except for stone and steel there is nothing to build with in the ice sheet. how about ICE? plenty of that around.

when I have a good shooter but he has an arm injury or eye injury its not immediately clear how his/her shooting skill would be effected.

tynan could add a line, or area of different colour on the skills bar to show how the injury etc. is effecting the skill level. therefore showing the full skill level and the modified skill level.

ONE -- RAIDERS ACTUALLY DOING RAIDING
I always thought the purpose of the Raiders was to some raiding and steal our stuff, not kill us.
They should break into our base and steal our Food/Silver/Metal etc...
Like y'know.... raiders
Perhaps the purpose of the siege is to break your defenses, then they assault your colony and start thieving, OR they could have some sort of weapon/battering ram to attack your walls to get through faster.

TWO --COLONY LEADER
Have a specific Colony Leader, gives people around him a morale / skill boost (much needed in the current alpha), although they might take a morale hit if he dies.

THREE -- STEALTH
Special raider units, dressed in black, they come at night - maybe they have no name-plate so they are really hard to see?
Maybe they could be THIEVES or ASSASSINS - come to steal specific things, silver, AI core etc. or come to kill the Colony Leader

Just read the changelog.

Manned turrets is a GREAT idea, although I hope the colonist bails 4 squares backwards when its about to blow!
