General Discussion / Re: Cooking for the Canivores

I guess i am starting to understand.

So the answer to my original question was probably Pemmican.
I allways assumed that gives a mood debuff too, but apparently not.

What i wanted to achieve where simple meal which are mixed. But i think that only happens when they do not have enough of one component and fill that up with a different one.

Thanks all

There is a mode that just makes them much weaker in game, without disabling them completely.
I think it was called "easy infestation" or soemthing like that

Feels a bit cheesy, but then again. The insects do spoil the fun for me as well

Yep, i was thinking of the killbox as well, just not there quite yet. Will give it a try  ;D

Very interesting, thanks!

My issue was slightly different. Since i need to feed them "some" meat, and i do not have enough to feed pure meat i try to stretch that with potatoes. Since i can not "force" them to add meat they often make pure meat and pure veggie simple meals. Which does not work.
And as you mentioned, fine meals are wasting even more food which is what i am lacking.

I can see a deliberate "challenge" in that. You need to get enough meat.OK.
But then why have a carnivore fine meal? It feels like a missing option to me.

Or i was hoping I was just missing something

That is my point
If i need to make a wall around anyway, just leave out the fence...
#6
Since i am at it another question,

What is the Point of Fences?
Since predators are just walking in and Killing my animals, I still have to have a wall around them.
I stoped with the fences and just use walls.

I guess you can maybe separate two different fenced in areas but... seems quite underwelming

@zgrssd

I think you are mentioning a mechanic i do not understand... What is the Nutrition value?
All i know is i use either 2 or 3 Ingredients and i get one meal out of it.

But i am happy to learn!

@Mirador

That is exactly what i wanted to do. Stretch the meat with some veggies. Except i can not controll if there is meat, veggies, or only veggies in the meal.
With the result that i got mostly meat only and a couple potato meals.. no mixed ones.

I started a new thread. I bellieve i am derailing this one

Hey all

Concerning cooking for the Carnivores/Rancher. I had a short conversation in a other thread and figured i better start a new thread. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=54823.0

Basically i think there is a need for carnivore simple meal.

Early game i had a hard time getting enough meat. Not enough to hunt, not enough grass/hay for ranching.

I tried to grow some potatoes to stretch out the meat a bit. Problem is, they mostly made either meat or vegetable meals.
I do now understand that apparently fruits are handeld differently than vegetables. Ok. But if they cook a 100% berry meal that will probably still not be good for the canivores right?
I do not see a way of making sure my simple meals are allways containing some meat. Or am i missing something?
And the fine canivore meals take 3 instead of 2 ingredients. So that is not helping if you are low on meat.

Any thoughts? Or am i missing something?

I simply gather berries and agave fruits, then mix it with meat to get the meal I want. No one complain!

And how do you do that?
When i make simple meals they most often have either potatos or meat. Only rarely are they mixed. And i would not know how to mix that??

Of course i can make fine carnivore meals, that works mid to late game. But i had a hard time getting enough meat at the beginning because ironically, growing season was short (for grass and then hay)

General Discussion / Changing Ideologie

Hello all

I haven't had a lot of time with the new DLC. Obviously..

Is there a way to change a Ideology of a pawn?
I know i can change it before i recruite them, but afterwards??

At the same time not sure if there is a good reason to have all with the same ideologie or not...

You do not need to accept any quests. They show up all the time anyway.. Feels like it is about 50/50 to regular raids.
But i will glady try your mod !

1 EMP launcher and 1 smoke launcher is really all you need

Great. I tell that to my pawn with the bow and arrow.

Guess i try to edit the custom scenario. That was what i was looking for anyway.
Or can i just disable the new dlc? Will the Mech clusters still be around in Vanilla too now?

General Discussion / How to handle Mech Clusters?
April 14, 2020, 11:23:31 AM
Hey all

I really do not want to start a new discussion about the DLC. Please!

I got 600+ hours in the game. As in: "not quite a Novice any more", i am sure you are much better player than me. No reason to prove that. I am here to learn.

Here is my Situation.
Mech Clusters took all (well most) of the fun out of the game, for me.

I can not handle them. They just wipe my base regularly. Until mid to late game when i am finally strong enough. As in usually i shell them with mortars...
How do you beat a mech cluster with, like 5 guys with 1 revolver, 1 rifle and a couple old bows ...
They just seem waaay to strong and way to early. The reach they have is insane. I loose several pawns even just walking towards them...

-I was writing this topic to ask if there is a way to turn the bloody mech clusters off completely?
-While writing i figured maybe you guys know a better way to handle them? I am open to suggestions.

Thanks
