It sounds like that'd fall under the same legal kerfuffle that is the use of emulators.

If you've got a legit copy of the game brought, then AFAIK it's perfectly legal to use an emulator with that particular ROM. Do it for a game you don't have? It be piracy. Very sketchy law, lol.

Yeah. My point was about how people could easily pirate it too, if a release was released for people who did purchase it.
I think it is cute that you think this game doesn't have a well seeded torrent.

I played this game before I bought it, wink wink, nudge nudge.1
I liked it so I tossed some money at Ludeon.
I wish more artists etc. would just put up a paypal or bankaccount number or something.
I like giving money to people who I think deserve it, AFP states the case quite well:

1 I hope admitting this doesn't get me banned, I would hate to lose touch with this community. I would really hate having to go back to playing pirated versions, I like being up to date. If Ludeon or anyone else wishes to know about the motivations behind digital piracy I would be glad to answer any questions.
Don't worry, my motivations are quite standard and therefore easily ignored by a properly entrenched mind so you don't have to worry about me changing you mind.

Hello everyone,

It happens that we would be in need of all A5 and A6 builds, as we try to update and republish an old mod (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=13664.msg140006#msg140006).
We have some versions of the mod dated from 2014/07/26 and it would help us check its behavior in corresponding versions.

I would just like to point out the fact that we didn't necessarily played the mod during its up-time, so if you knew about it through gameplay, your experience would be greatly appreciated as well!

thanks in advance for the help  ;)

Having the older versions will help us get K9 back up and running much faster since we can see first hand how the mod is supposed to function and better find any new bugs our updating to A10/A11 may have created.

Also from a purely inquisitive point of view, it would be cool if all the older versions were made available for us to download in the same place we get our current DL from.

For those of us who never experienced older incarnations of RW, being able to go back and see how the game has evolved and what things have been added/removed over the years would be fun.

isistoy and ladywolf, I did play with k9 in both a5 & a6, and  the file size for  a rar of the 4 windows zips and both k9 zips is 190MB. regarding seeing how rimworld has EVOLVED over the versions, some of the changes were a bit negative eg the removal of the 'floor(including marsh AND water) converting to soil' nutrient pump, but over all the latest build is the MOST playable so far.
if tynan permits I can post a link to  a copy of the rar of the four windows rimworld version zips with both poject k9 zips

If that is possible for you and Tynan is ok with it (I can confirm I own the game, if needs be), it'd be excellent!
Let's hope for the best!

PS: do you have K9 installed in which versions in your archives?

the versions that I have are from 460 and the a5 (I keep the mods in folders dedicated to the alpha version of rimworld eg all the mods I downloaded for a10 are in a mods\a10 folder in my game installers, patches and mods archive (which I have been building for quite a few years and is now all of 132GB for all the games I have bought and played)
