A backpack would make make carrying a melee weapon with a gun possible.

Why can't my colonists carry meals x3 instead of going to mine across the map and return home each time they need to feed again? That's because they don't have BACKPACKS!

Or... tents to spend a single night out or two... (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=15074.msg159035#msg159035)

It's ridiculous that Wardens cannot carry the meal capacity for a prison's hosts and must go back and forth for each one of them...

You're pretty much negating the need for building proper food and weapon storage if pawns can carry a bunch of stuff with them at all times. Letting pawns carry a single meal that can't spoil is a simple solution to the problem that pawns would spend a lot of time wandering back and forth when they got hungry. If they can each carry 10 meals that don't spoil, you no longer need a freezer. Allowing them to spoil would be micro-management hell.

The warden problem also has a simple solution - simply build separate food storage for prisoners, or let them draw their own nutrient paste meals.

Camping mod already exists, but only for caravans I think. It could probably be tweaked to work on your home map as well, assuming it doesn't already.

I am only suggesting the increase in carrying capacity from one to three, just a minimal upgrade only and the spoilage concept is not of my own. I have no issue if their food rottens. A single meal expires in three days, so the top would be six.

The thing is that we always see NPCs with large inventories that end up looking unfair. Looking back in time, Tynan's new game updates were like: "If raiders can do it, players should too". Like drop pod attacks, for example.

If you have the time, I would like to see your own base designs. I ventured a few hours to youtube videos but they are all terrible uploads, as each video can last hours and show nothing, titles are only word references for a few minutes only and most people there just want attention (viewers) but with poor content to the point I gave up watching YT videos for references.

For now Im playing with a freezer for raw resources with a separate room exclusive for meals only with different animal zone so my tamed animals won't eat cooked meals and a third open area to place kibble so preferably, animals go for meals only when kibble runs out. But all three areas are like next to each other.

If I were to have two freezers in opposed sides of the map and far from one another, I would need like two kitchens or the cooks would spend most of their time hauling meals than cooking.

The dispenser, so far I have only used in Ice Sheet but mostly for raw resource preservation than a lack of warden problem. If you have a youtube account or any other public domain, I'm interested.
