Hello dear reader!

Firstly, apologies if these have been brought up before.

I would like to start by saying what an amazing game Rimworld is, it very quickly jumped to my most played game in my library, overtaking games I've had over 6 years. It is outstanding, I love the character development, and I love the statistics.

A few suggestions

1. Building overlays - It would be great to have an overlay on the bottom right for where you can build structures (especially with the introduction of swamps). Trying to squeeze a circular greenhouse around a sunlamp in a swamp is a nightmare when you have to keep starting again, because the wall doesn't build on marsh.

2. Farming overlays - overlays for highlighting where the 140% or 100% fertility areas would be handy.

Thoughts?

Even better than an overlay for the different soil types, would be a way to limit the grow-zone tool to a certain soil type. For example, "grow zone - only gravel" would be useful for quickly putting down potato zones, and a rich-soil tool would be for your corn or healroot.

Apparently a mod for this already exists - "New Zone Tools". So, I guess my vote is to put that into the base game? :P

Yep, I have been using that one for a while.

There is also this one, which works slightly differently but accomplishes the same thing. Works a bit better when you can't see through snow for instance to see what you want to select: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=784123492
