I purchased the game direct from Ludeon and added it to my Steam library. However, I prefer to not play my games on Steam if possible. The problem is, there doesn't seem to be any place other than Steam to find mods without wading through a lot of posts, popups, and banner ads. Is it possible to install the game on Steam, add mods, then copy those mods to my non-steam version of the game?

I tried to do this and I was unable to launch the game at all, forcing a complete clean installation. What I don't know is if that problem was random or related to using the mods I got from Steam.

You should be able to! The only difference with steam mods is an steam id log file, which shouldn't cause the game to freak out like that. The timing of the problem is definitely suspicious though ;D

Thank you! I will back up everything and try again.
