Forum related - Longer signatures

Just wanted to say that the current limit on letters I can use in a signature is almost unusably small. It doesn't take into account the fact that URLs are very long. Look at my sig here, and tell me how that is possibly 300 letters.

If this limit could be increased please, that'd be much appreciated. If someone wanted to make an obnoxious signature, they already easily can, even with only 300 letters. For example:

Which shortens URLs then, as an example.

Look and Layout profile control allows to ban signatures, useful for people who don't like selfish users.

I see no reason to constantly see stupid signature again and again, i see no reason to waste time on downloading random image.

If you do respect other users, keep signature clean - single link to thread\page that store anything you like of any length.

If you are selfish immature kid - skip everything and just put flashing 640 * 480 banner into your signature, let everyone see how cool you are.

I had very close to 640 by 480 sig once very long ago
the moderators replaced it with red notification something in the lines of
*Sig removed by name, it's too big*

I wore that sig for ages with pride
my own sig, custom made by friendly neighbourhood moderator
I've kept my sigs less obnoxious size since then, or like now just don't bother making one at all, The avatar is signature enough

But like Coen and RC says! their solutions are both the better option instead of bigger signature capacity

Sounds like you're agreeing with me that the 300 limit doesn't stop people from making bad sigs. SO then there is no point keeping it at only 300 right? 500 sounds better for people like use that want to make good sigs.

That helps a lot! Thankyou! But with the amount of mods I'm pumping out, I'm still gonna hit that 300 limit soon.

EDIT: Yeah check my sig now, it's reached the 300 limit again, but I got 1 more mod URL in there at least.

Ouch, looks like you might end up needing a "Link page" somewhere. just a forum post with links to all of your other mods, editing the post whenever you make a new one.
that should shorten it down even further.

People tend to have LOONG as signatures if not limited. So the limit is good. Pictures and links can be used via google short link.
