Faction Relations to each other

What is the name of the xml file that determines faction relations with each other?

I noticed it varies game to game.

I'd like to tweek the xml file to guarantee that all factions are hostile with each other.

Pretty sure the factions relations to eachother are generated in world creation based on the Goodwill min and max things in the faction defs

you could change those values to -100 for everyone and they'd (possibly) be hostile with everyone, including you
then you should be able to 'force' them to be neutral towards you with dev mode

Yeah I think you are right, the goodwill is probably randomly picked between each faction from that range, hence sometimes at the start a faction can like you and hate another.  Thanks for the reply.. gonna try it out tonight (working right now lol).

I thought the goodwill ranges in the factions def xml was strictly faction -> player and there was another file that handled faction to faction relations but I can see now that would be excessive.

I love collecting up all the collateral damage.. gotta keep the war economy going ;)

It could be nice to see visitors from our other previously created colonies  :)

It'd be neat if it referenced the name you gave that colony too. I think that'd be very difficult to mod though as the game would have to create a faction for each colony? I guess if it asked enough questions when you are setting up a colony initially it could be done that way. It'd be sweet if it let you do that and you also get to decide the singular and plural references for your colonists..

Reading this, I've just remembered this also happens in The Sims. You set up families around the map and they come and go visit you.  :)
