Okay so more often than not i'm watching anime while playing rimworld. The sound of a thunderstorm drowns out everything else on the computer. Is there a way to program a slider to lower weather sounds without hurting rim worlds other sound effects?

Not a huge issue, but i hat having to adjust the sounds before and after EVERY storm. It also makes me avoid wet climates when colonizing.

I would love more advanced sound options for the game, especially weather.

I agree, the sound can sometimes be too loud compared to everything else so adjusting it would be nice.

I usually have Archer or the first dozen seasons of The Simpsons playing in the background while playing Rimworld.  What anime do you watch?  What do other people watch while playing?

Yeah, I play on a constant x3, unless an event occured or I pause it to select things, so I pay attention only to rimworld.

so much more enjoyable at speed 1, to actually watch the colonists work, to see them spend time drinking a brew and chatting in the saloon, while two others play billiards.

Or watching them build that much needed house for the new recruit.....

the list is endless of the things to watch as the colony chugs along... playing at speed 3, you miss all the little things that happen each day.

But if it is all about build, fight recover, then the joys of life are boring, and speed 1 will bore you to death.

Now for the crack of thunder, that will jolt me to attention every time.... more so than the envelope dropping, so yea that sound needs adjusted.

Pretty much yeah. And I'm just not a very patient person, so I like to pause whenever I'm doing any commands or anything, and then go x3 when I'm doing nothing.

Just to share, I usually play at x1, then switching faster during night or when everything is running smoothly.
"Sam Starfall joined your colony"
"Sam Starfall left your colony with all your valuable"

To answer the original poster, it's possible to mod the weather sound intensity. Didn't realise it was still so annoying, though.

Yeah... I usually crank it up when a majority of my colonists are sleeping.
