Hello,

I seem to have a problem installing any mod other then core and blasting charges.

Even starting up the game takes a bit of time as it kinda locks up for a few mins and then comes back and i can get into the menu.

However, when i install a mod and go to mod menu to enable it and hit close the game locks up completely and dont come back and when i try to restart it the game refuse to load up again until i remove the installed mod.

I have tried with the http://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=4797.0 - (The All In One Mod Pack V 1.3.1) as well as downloading each of them on their own and installing them that way, but every time i try to exit the mod menu the game locks and wont restart until i remove the mods again.

I have tried to disable anti virus and firewall as well as a full clean install and installing it directly on my C: drive without any other sub folders.

I run it on win 7... Please dont hesitate to ask for further if needed.

Thanks in advance!

So... a little update... Seems i CAN install mods, but when i exit the mod menu after turning it on it takes like 20-30 mins for it to finish and while it does the game stays in a state of crashing, at least thats what windows is telling me...

It sounds like it's having a hard time loading the mods you're running.

One potential problem is that the All-in-one mod is really big. You've said that you've tried downloading them separately, but have you tried running only 1 at a time? The separate mods in the all in one mod pack have been modified so that they'll run together, some of them will crash the game trying to work together otherwise.

I'd suggest running only the rimrats mod (found here if you've deleted it) as it's very small and simple. (as far as I can remember)

What's your PC like? Rimworld doesn't take much to run but if you're on a PC that's 5+ years old and was "budget" back then there's always the potential that it's not able to handle much more than the vanilla game. :-\

Also, do you try running a lot of programs in the background while it's on? I'm just asking this to cover everything. I've met people who never close things, so their ram is constantly being eaten by things like their web browser in the background because it has 80+ tabs open. :P

Hey, sorry for late reply... Busy day...

Well, my PC is getting on the older side, but its not a heap of junk yet, should be able to run this no problem, i mod a lot of games and i never had this problem before.

PC specs : Intel core i7 860 @ 2.80ghz with 16gb ram running 64bit windows 7.

I did try to only install 1 mod and the game still locked up for some 20 mins before i came out of the mod menu, i have now installed most of the mods from the mod pack, not all tho, only took what i liked and a few misc ones... Loading them all took around 40 mins where windows told me the game was locked.

Hope thats enough info? if not please dont hesitate to ask!

This thread may interest you: Long loading time issue

yea thanks, im already keeping an eye on that thread :)

Sadly no fix yet for either of us, i also dont have any vpn software running and i got hamachi too, but never turned on unless i need it.

If devs want i can easily make a log for them to look at if they think it would help.

The issue is mostly or completely fixed for Alpha 6. It's some weird slow-loading behavior from the Unity WWW interface. I don't understand it, but I managed to work around it, at least in the case of text files.

Thats great news, thanks!... Looking forward to trying alpha 6!

Well it seems that it isn't that much fixed  :(
Everytime I add a bigger mod like Superior Crafting it takes 10 minutes or more for me to load the game. After that it works just fine.
Small mods like Rimrats work too, but even then the loading time increases.
