Room temperature fluctuate too fast

When the temperature outside is too low, and the room is small, the temperature of the room can fluctuate alot, the number change like 10 times per second and the biggest number - smallest number can be like 10C in a second.

Is this a bug or a feature ?

Innese

Its a feature.

The larger the temperature difference, the larger the room, and the thin/thicker the walls are can all change how much and how often the temperature changes, as can a colonist opening a door to go in/out of a room.

Been wondering about that too, some of my guys were always sleeping in the cold and when i hoovered over with the mouse temperatures didnt seem too low, but then i waited there all night and saw that in a sec on 3x speed it droped from 20 to 10 at times for a sec but went straight back up again, does seem a bit strange, since it happens in a second or two, the rooms are small, heated with a heater each (no doors get opened), outside temperature is -18, inside it fluctuates between +21 to +18 more or less all the time, im still unsure if this is a feature, is a bit awkward cause the drop seems instant for more degrees at once but as said goes back up almost instantly again, they always get the -5 slept in the cold mood loss.

Is the heater constantly powered. You should be able to see the heater fighting with the heat loss if you do see this perhaps the room size combined with the heat loss and the outside temp is too much for 1 heater, maybe add another.

Id like to see insulation in the game, tired of making double walls.  That being said, it does seem fast to us because time is moving fast for us.  If we watched in real time then it would seem more normal and we would get an idea of how troublesome it is to maintain temperature in a given space.

Yup, there is sufficient energy all the time, have noticed that bigger rooms are fine, the smaller rooms are 5x7. The problem is not underheated room due to outside temperatures being too low, problem is that 1-2 sec glitch that occurs for unknown reasons (havent figured it out yet) resulting in 5 mood loss.

- doors are closed, power is at max, outside temperature seems stable.

- looks completly like a glitch, maybe its due to heater switching from high to low (?) and then back, cause shortly after (1sec) it does go up to normal flutuation again and room isnt too cold afterwards.

that could be it. small rooms lose heat faster, so as the heat er hits its set temp it shuts off the heat drops quickly and it flips back on and starts battling it again. Try insulating the small room somewhat see if the time between "glitches" extends out.
