Mysterious incapacitation...


Let's get right to it..
Meet Matt, matt's a poor bastard who joined the gang at a fairly old age he was riddled with scars of the battle that is time.
Luckily for him however, I'm a kind and generous god and thus I allowed him to join the group (he also happened to have a lvl 18 art skill :p)

However, Matt tends to go beserk from time to time, Which according to his fellow colonists is a perfectly good reason to shoothim.....
@Devs: I have no idea who's idea this was or where the realism lies in this, but I hope someone's getting fired over it -_-
You just don't shoot A level 18 artist ffs! a poor old friend who happens to be a little grumpy..


Either way, this was for him the final straw, a permanent gunshot to the brain and to his right eye..
Worst of all he was incapacitated.
I gave him a brain stimulator(brain replacement?) to cure him from being brain dead and allow him to walk again..
However that proved to be ineffective.. So I gave him a new eye, because.. meh?  Still nothing.

I did some digging and turned out other people had something similar except my guy, doesn't have a pet leg so the math doesn't add up..


According to the wiki:
Frail:

  • -30% movement
  • -30% manipulation
Bad Back:

  • -30% movement
  • -10% manipulation

So my guy should have -60% movement and thus 40% left
But when I hover over "Moving" it says "Efficiency: 13%"....How?

Right, as it turns out the "Brain Stimulator" nerfs a lot of body parts if they're above 65% (it force-sets them to 65%) + all the other things that add penalties..

But still, why is he incapacitated while he still has 13% horsepower left?
If this is on purpose it should say "None" not "very poor".. :/

1. The wiki info is often outdated, so that may be questionable
2. If movement or manipulation hit 0, I believe they do say None instead
3. I could be wrong - I just got back from vacation last night and haven't fired up A14 yet (Sacrilege!!)

The health of a bodypart also defines its stats, so any body part that effects moving (brain in this instance I believe) that has any HP removed will be working at reduced efficiency.

alright but "very poor" suggests that he should still be able to walk right?, very slow probably but still..? :s

Agreed. The weirdest thing to me is the spamming incap messages. Not expected behavior. Moving to bugs.

ah nono, that was just me making sure that it's visible from the pic that he's incapacitated ;)

LOL, gotcha.  And my bad.  :)

Anyway, "Very poor" moving & manipulation should mean there's some.  Being incap'd isn't expected for this pawn, so there's still a bug.

The Brain Stimulator - is that a part of vanilla RimWorld, or is that a mod?  I don't recognize it.  If you're using mods, what's your mod list?

youre using EPOE, that thing does monstrous amounts of changes to the medical system I wouldnt be surprised if THAT is the cause of this, try it in vanilla and see if you can replicate. Moving to mod bugs in this instance.

epoe does some changes, but he should be capable of walking, i sorta know. atleast, id assume so. try turning on debug mode in the options, then above the list of prosthetics, theres a check too show more medical info, 2 actually, and i mean, you could try that maybe, i dont know if it would help.

Ok, turns out the "Brain Stimulator" Force-sets a lot of body parts to 65%, meaning if you're applying it when brain is > 65% it'll be nerfed to 65% + all other penalties, same is true for a few other things like moving and consciousness

Either way, I'd like to focus "the main issue" to the fact that Moving was labeled as "Very poor" even tho I couldn't move him, so it should've been None
