Ship reactor destroyed (purple flag mission)

I'm new to Rimworld and I sent one colonist on a caravan to the Ship reactor (purple flag) however, i did not know that you needed to defend it or anything and i was not able to and it got destroyed when no colonists were even there. Do i have to start the game over? Cuz i already put like 4 hours into the play through... Please help.

Since the reactor ship for the Journey ending had exploded...

You cannot get another one, However you can still build an space ship of your own, though it's quite expensive to build like you need a ton of uranium and plasteel along with gold and a single AI Core.

First off, I play 4 hour games sometimes just to test an idea

Secondly, you do not need that ship to win. You can build your own. In fact, most people don't go for the ship and build their own always. I personally have never been to the ship and have won several times.

Funny thing was the Journey flag in my game was nearby but behind the impassable mountains and ocean.

I did use the transport pods, like a lot of them to get there, and boy the endless raids were tough, but i did win the game and got the Journey ending.

Besides in the past building a ship in earlier alphas was no big deal until they were expensive in B18 and B19, it's still possible with some pain and stuff, boy i love experimenting & messing around in this game!
