Options menu is invisible but accessible [1.0.2059] (sorta fixed)

Whenever I attempt to access the options menu (either by pressing escape and clicking options in game, or by pressing the options button on the main menu), nothing pops up. However, the menu appears to be open but just not visible. That is, the options button gets indented/darkened, and I can click around in the area that options would appear on screen and hear other buttons being pressed, I just have no visual of what's happening, as though the menu were transparent. If I press escape, the options menu apparently closes and I can go back to playing the game.

This issue first arose when I was trying to change my resolution/UI scale. My res was set at 1920x1080 and I downgraded it to 1600x900 which seemed to be working okay. I think it was when I tried to bump the UI scale to 1.25x and put the res back at 1920x1080 that the problems started happening. The screen was flickering, and I'm not sure what was going on. After a bit I escaped out of that, but since then I've had the above-mentioned issue with the invisible options menu, though other than that the game is running fine. In case it's important, I'm running Steam OS + Linux.

I've tried rebooting the game and steam, but that didn't work. Reinstalling also didn't work, but just before posting this I did some digging and changed the resolution values in ~.config/unity3d/Rimworld by .../prefs and .../Config/Prefs.xml back to 1920x1080 (they were at 1600x900) and everything started working again. Still posting this report, since I'm unable to change my res around without creating similar issues.

I don't think reinstalling would delete/reset the configs.
Did you try to delete the config folder, so rimworld would create default settings ?

Came here to report identical problem (version 1.0.2059 Win 10 64-bit). If access options menu in game, ok, but from main menu screen, get the same glitch as reported. Get screen flickering also. Config resolution settings are:
<screenWidth>1920</screenWidth>
<screenHeight>1001</screenHeight>
<fullscreen>False</fullscreen>
<uiScale>1</uiScale>.

Have done an un-install, re-install, but same issue arises. All other menu buttons and game run fine.

I'm having the exact same problem. The game appears to run flawlessly, it is only the options menu screen that gets blacked out and I can still click blindly.
