Or do I need to DL a non steam version of either 1.0 or 1.1 and run the other version on steam. Cause when I try to use the beta thread 1.0 it uninstalls 1.1 to roll back to 1.0.

Just copy 1.0 out of the Steam folder (since you won't want it to ever update) to another location (that *is not* in either Program Files folder!) and then install the latest version normally.  RW does not actually make any DRM checks; it just uses Steam for distribution/updates.

Actually my main problem with running two versions is both versions are reading the same modconfig file unless it will accept a 1.0 or 1.1 subfolder. As they both look to user/appdata/locallow/ludeon studios/rimworld/config. I rolled back the steam one to 1.0 and downloaded the latest non steam version from here. Well here the main site not the forums. :3

In that case, I would make a batch file for each version, that copies the appropriate modconfig file to that location, then starts the appropriate version of RW.

Or just create different shortcut with -savegamefolder=path
More info at the Readme.txt at the installation.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that command-line argument =).
