Same thing happened to me, but sadly my handler died shortly before it showed up so, I decided to slaughter it and sell off it's horn and keep it's fur and meat for when I have a good crafter and cook.

How easy was it to kill? I had one recently and just let it live in fear of getting pummeled from either taming it or trying to kill it,

Difficult to say really, it never retaliated because I had four sentry guns shoot it all at once. It isn't comparable to a mechanical centipede, but it is probably a little tougher than an elephant, or syther (maybe rhino too, haven't had to fight one yet though).

I seem to be having trouble with one of my pet Wargs. He just won't eat anything and his hunger has dropped to almost 0%, does he get fed by someone or am I  missing something.

if he needs someone to feed him, how does that happen? If that isn't the case then how does he eat?"
I hear the voices... They are telling me to do terrible things... Sounds Fun!

Panzer

Wargs eat meat, either provide them access to your freezer or set up a stockpile with meat near his sleeping spot. If you train them the handler will feed some meat, but barely enough to survive.

Tynan

Yes, wargs are the only true carnivores in the game for now.

so, what does it take for two animals to mate and have offsprings? had a cow and bull for ages now, nothing happened yet.

Mr.Cross

Just have them near each other. It takes time, esspecially since you won't know if a female is pregnant till the middle of it's pregnancy.

I always start with husky or terrier. 😕😕😕 anyone know if it's possible to make a boom rat army?

yes, yes it is.
Boomrats are all well and good, but if you really want some M.A.D then tame some Boomalopes! ;)

How does animal hauling work? My dogs haul stuff in a lets say 50-60 workbench radius, but nothing farther away, even when set to unrestricted. Is there some kind of limit?

Also fighting pets, wargs need a bit of balancing I'd say, they take ages to breed, need more than a year to be fully grown, are hard to tame and eat meat exclusively. Right now boars are the better choice, easier to train, eat hay, grow up faster (6-7 months to adult?) and multiply like bacteria (started with 2, got 15 now after a year, not all fully grown though).

Wargs would be good if it werent for their diet, can we like get a recipie for dog chow or something like that, so we can mix up something to mitigate the heavy meat consumption?

Try using animals that lay eggs, feed em the eggs.

I don't think so? They just sort of randomly take up the tasks. I've set my Labradors to remain in the home region and I've seen them dash off across the map to haul some metal slag.

Cimanyd

A few months in, with a variety of animals (a few small, a few large, a few dogs, many chickens), none of the animals have been named (except for the dogs that get named automatically). I've never seen an animal nuzzle a colonist either, but I haven't been keeping a close enough eye on the animals, colonists, and colonists' thoughts to say for sure that it never happens. How common is it for animals to nuzzle, and for those animals to be named? I can't really tell the difference between "my colony is bugged and animals never nuzzle" and "animals rarely nuzzle, and/or nuzzling animals rarely get named, and it just hasn't happened yet".
Some sort of psychic wave has swept over the landscape. Your colonists are okay, but...
It seems many of the scythers in the area have been driven insane.

Tynan

If your animals are restricted to a little area they won't be able to access colonists to nuzzle them.

Is there a limit to how many animals you can have?

My pigs are breeding like wildfire but I don't want to kill/sell them yet.
