It appears that the "make tuque" job is missing furs from the newer animals as an option when attempting the job.

Using the current version (12.914, compiled AUG-2015)
Mods Active: Only EdB's interface mod and Core. I also doublechecked with an new game, in a different environment. Same options)

Pretty sure it doesn't matter, but also built different tailor benches using a different material (wood, steel) and had the same options. I took a quick look at the Mantis, but it's honestly been at least 6+ years since I last used that system...

Tuques have never allowed leather. It does allow the new animal wool.

Yes - after a few minutes I was able to figure out the first part. (no leather) However, the previously attached screenshot shows that only a few animal furs are listed as possible material sources.

Most of the "furs" are count as leather aswell
Only the shearable animals provide stuff that is count as fabric

Hmmm... That's odd, but would sort-of make sense. Does anyone know if that's intentional or known issue?

Personally, it seems like fur/skin/leather from the new animals (husky or thrumbo for example) would clearly be 'warm enough' for a hat to be made out of them.

those are not furs, but sheered off of the animal.

Furs are leathers as far as rimworld is concerned. Big difference between fur, which has the skin attached, and wool, which are the fibers with no skin.
