I've noticed you can build inside circles of impassible terrain, as your initial base. Does this mean you cannot get out of this? I suppose drop pods can alleviate this, but then does this mean you can be only attacked by drop pods?

Canute

Basicly yes, but.
- When there is realy mountain all around the mapborder, you can't leave it either as caravane.
- Fog of war, not everwhere it looks there is mountain there is realy mountain. Once you dig in that area you will reveal some caverns or valleys they reach to the map border. In that kind of area will appear new things. Most of them don't reach your base and will leave. Sappeur maybe dig a way to your base.

Such is life in the rimworld.
