AI Persona Cores - save for spaceship or cash in?

The Man with No Name

An AI Persona Core, obtained by destroying a psychic ship, is needed to build a Ship Computer Core, part of the spaceship needed to fly off the planet. According to the Wiki, at least one Ship Computer Core is needed to fly the ship.

AI Persona Cores are also worth a lot of money with exotic traders, almost 3,000 silver.

I have three AI Persona Cores now. Should I be saving all of them for the spaceship or cashing in on one or two now?

Elexorien

As far as I can tell, you will only need one core to build the ship.  So go ahead and sell two (unless you are worried about raiders stealing it or a disaster destroying it).

Thanks. If I'm suddenly very rich, though, will that increase the intensity of raider attacks?

You'll actually lose a little wealth selling, meaning you're better off doing so.

Greep

Towns and exotic caravans also usually sell them as well, so you can always buy it back later at a markup, I'd just sell them all.  Usually by the time its time to blast off I'm drowning in money anyways.

Good Point.  I figured they would already be counted towards his wealth, forgot that you always sell at a loss, thus selling would help reduce intensity of attacks.

All that silver will take up a lot of storage space! I'll cash in now and finally buy something expensive, like a bionic arm.

While the exotic trader's with me, shall I sell him all my jade as well? It seems it takes twenty times as much jade material than it does stone to build sculptures, so I don't think it's worth it. I'll probably have finished the game before I get enough to build a single small sculpture.

Greep

Yup, jade is basically worthless in vanilla, since it's only useful for cramming beauty for 200+ room impressivess and that'll just attract a bunch of raiders xD

Jade makes great clubs, but it's sadly too rare to really be of any notable use otherwise. I think even silver is just as good as jade for beauty, and silver is a lot easier to get a hold of

I shall be rich for the first time in the game then. The trader has an elephant for sale at $1,407...  :P

In one of his lesser known conquests, the Great Khan marched elephants over the Appalachian mountains to conquer the city of Rome, Georgia.
Mental break: playing RimWorld

Final straw was: Overdue projects.

Maxim 1   : Pillage, then burn
Maxim 37 : There is no overkill. There is only open fire and reload.
Rule 34 of Rimworld :There is a mod for that.

It was revenge for Emperor Tiberius Kirk stealing his autographed copy of Kobayashi's "Botany of the Bay".
