YOU CAN ONLY VOTE FIVE TIMES, EVER. This is to keep it accurate for them. Keep in mind that as new poll ideas come in, I will update it, so only vote one at a time and keep an eye on this.

Rimworld's developers, Ludeon Studios, deserve money, not just as an incentive to keep doing what they're doing, but as a reward for being so awesome, active in their fanbase/ community, and continuing to make and improve on the best game ever. They get money by people buying new copies and people donating money to them, but eventually those will both run out, and the game will not continue to be developed, for a game like this, that means it's death. Look at Mojang and Minecraft, it hit it's peak a long time ago, then they sold out, we don't want Ludeon to do that, right? As long as they have income from us, they won't want to sell their company to conglomerates that will EA their game into the ground. Damn I miss Westwood Studios.

Paid DLC, many players dislike it, myself included, and it would be hard to implement into a game like Rimworld, but it WOULD get them moneys.

A monthly goal system, every day a player starts the game, rather than every time due to mod order nightmares, a dialog box pops up asking the player to donate 50 cents with a bar that shows how close they are to their monthly goal. This bar should be filled with ANY income in the interest of full transparency, communities appreciate that, or at least I do. Once the monthly bar is filled, it stops popping up for everyone, and the only way to donate in game (for players who want to give some EXTRA LOVE <3) is the convenient donate button in the pause and main menus. The pros of this is that it's always there, but will not be in the player's face too often, take care to empathize with your players, yeah? The cons are that some people will get annoyed, but they're selfish and don't truly appreciate Ludeon for who they are.

A donate button in the pause and main menus, pros are that it's non-invasive but always there, cons are that it's easily ignored. Ludeon deserves our support, and they have the right to kindly ask for money.

Any other options I should add? Opinions on Pros and Cons? I'll edit it as needed.

Seems a bit like a slippery slope to discuss such thing in a thread on a game forum, I'm not making any proven statements about Tynan's financial situation but I don't hear him complaining and given Rimworld's succes and the relatively small team working behind it I think they're doing okay.
If they want to they can always raise the price of the game. If you want to help a good way to start is to promote the game on other forums or talk about it on game conventions and stuff.
I did see a girl post a picture showing her rimworld medkit and muffalo pillows or plushies or whatever which looke fun, some merchandising doesn't hurt as long as you don't overdo it like a whole lego set and a bigger clothing line than Hugo Boss. *cough*minecraft*cough*

And to focus on Minecraft, I think the least of their problems is money, pretty sure they still got millions, it's motivation.

The Man with No Name

I would like to see an official Rimworld formicarium.

Shinzy

There's already plenty of ways for people to support this game and it's creators by buying the name-in-game and the other reward tier packs or Tynan's book and/or the soundtrack to show your support

all of these are very pleasant ways from customers' point of view aswell
and there's probably no need to add any less attractive options
(Unless it's an official Rimworld formicarium ad similar to the Don't starve chester plushtoy they had on their mainmenu)

Ramsis

This thread seems weird to me...
Ugh... I have SO MANY MESSES TO CLEAN UP. Oh also I slap people around who work on mods <3

Awoo~

I think that this is more for Rimworlds long term financing, eventually sales will slow down as less and less people DONT have the game, I personally think it would be cool to have a donate button on like the main menu, Tynan releases an awesome update? donate a dollar or two to show your appreciation. It wouldnt be his main source of income, it would just be a way of people showing their appreciation.

The Man with No Name

There are already ways to donate with the existing DLCs:

RimWorld Name in Game Access: £7.00
RimWorld Backstory in Game Access: £127.00
RimWorld Pirate King Access: £277.00

Tynan

There's no danger of us having to stop development due to a lack of funds.

Since this poll seems so weird and likely to produce conflict (and since it's pointless since it's based on a false premise), I'm going to go ahead and lock it.
