Whenever you are reporting a bug or technical problem, for any game, it is always a good idea to provide as much information as possible. As a lack of information makes it very difficult for those trying to help you.

And in this case you have provided almost no information to go on so all I can suggest right now is for you to perform a clean reinstall (because that solves the widest range of issues). Step by step instruction on how to do this can be found here: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=4805.0

well there is not much too say other than that it simply just sends me back too the world gen screen and thus cannot start a new game

You can always state what your computer specs are regardless of the issue being reported. What CPU, GPU, RAM you have? Also state whether you have checked all your drivers and O/S are up-to-date? Are you using Windows/Mac/Linux? Are you using the Steam version or DRM-free? There's always info you can provide when reporting an issue.

Edit - And in the case of RimWorld, and very likely other Unity based games, you can post (as an attachment) the log file the game generates, which is where any errors encountered are recorded. Details on where to find the RimWorld log file can be found here (see #6): https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=513.0

I don't use the Steam version myself, but I'm pretty sure the workshop content gets deleted. Which is the point of a clean reinstall. It (hopefully) deletes everything associated with RimWorld in the install paths and registry, so that no trace of it is left. Meaning the game can then be reinstalled with a clean slate.
