EDIT: Fixed, Canute's suggestion worked. Thanks Canute. I put my saved games and scenarios aside, deleted the steam directory, uninstalled and removed everything, then reinstalled and dropped my saves and scenarios back in their folder. No more bug pop-ups!

----

Hi all and thanks in advance for helping!

I'm playing 0.19 through Steam after one of the unstable 1.0 updates broke my game. (I got the black screen that follows immediately upon Initialising, in the game title screen. I tried everything I could find online. A re-install caused Steam to automatically reset me to the 0.19 version, which worked, so I've just kept playing that. Still the same saved-game from early in unstable 1.0)

Moving on to the error message. It occurs as a Debug log pop-up, and then another pop-up. I can close and click OK on both of them, and then proceed to play as normal, but I get the same two messages again when I enter the Options menu ingame, and again whenever I'm trying to save or load. None of this makes the game unplayable, and I can still do everything as normal, the pop-ups are just annoying. Besides, I'm worried that one day I won't be able to access my very precious saved-game anymore due to this bug.

I play on permadeath. I used to play with a couple mods in previous versions, but in the meantime I've deleted their entire folders and done a clean re-install.

I've used the 'Copy to clipboard' debug log (see attachment), and taken a screenshot of the second pop-up. I used image editing software to merge two screenshots of the second pop-up into a single image, as it was just a few too many lines to fit into the window.

Judging by the error message wording, it appears to be an issue related to mods and accessing folders. I've unticked the "read only" property of the entire \LocalLow\Ludeon Studios folder, that didn't resolve it.

Does anyone know what causes these errors and what things I could try to fix them?

Thanks in advance!

A long-time fan

Canute

You can try to delete the Config folder and uninstall/delete rimworld and reinstall to clean it from possible remains of old versions.
