Unable to right click on Mac OS

Base default version of Rimworld, purchased today. Can not proceed past the tutorial where it says to equip a character with a weapon. No menu appears. Before this when the game tutorial makes you build a rice field the only way to proceed in the tutorial when a right click is required is I click escape and the tutorial takes it as a right click and I am able to proceed somehow. I am brand new to rim world but I verified I do know how to right click outside of the game and it functions properly. I try using the track pad and holding command and it doesn't work. I even try using the trackpad and holding control and it doesn't work. Nothing happens. I've tried following the directions exactly and I get nothing. I Click pawn, I right click on weapon, and nothing happens. It always just selects the weapon which show the little window showing the weapon Hp and that it's deteriorating due to being outside and uncovered. Please help, unmodded base game current version, tutorial.

I don't think that happen at the tutorial (never played it) but does the weapon got a red x (forbid) maybe ?

Normaly when you do it at the way, you should select the weapon (showing the weapon Hp and that it's deteriorating) it should bring up a menu you can select what that pawn should do with that weapon.

Do you maybe use a tools/setting to swap mouse buttons ? Since the right click select the weapon can you try the left button instead just for testing ?

Thanks for reply! No unfortunately that's not quite it, all of the starting weapons are allowed (no red x) on the pistol knife or bolt rifle. I have never seen this menu that is supposed to populate after you select a pawn and then when you right click a weapon, it always only shows the weapon hp and condition. I am unsure of how to toggle the computer settings to change right click at a computer level. Wish it would just work in game as supposed to. Any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Problem resolved thanks for your help! Had to go into system preferences, trackpad, and enable two finger = right click. Problem solved and the correct menu option to equip weapons appears! Awesome thanks guys
