I recently had a few prisoners that kept breaking out, so I gave them peg legs and subsequently removed them. When I finally recruited them, I installed their new legs and they immediately had 'Unhappy nudity.' So, I dropped down a save, and did it to another colonist (removed both of their archotech legs) and then their pants disappeared. I figure that the pants are actually attached to the legs (instead of the waist) because I tried replacing his legs with the same archotech legs and the pants remained missing.

Replication steps:
Give someone pants
Operate on them to install peg legs on both legs.
Operate on them to remove the part.
*poof* Pants gone.

On a related note, I have always found it amusing that a starving colonist eating a corpse eats the power armor as well.

-So you were so hungry that you ate his head? And his helmet?
-My parents always told me to finish the plate.

Well, what's what you get if you didnt take off your pants before amputating your leg. It makes sense.
What does not make sense, it is the fact that medics operate clothed and armored people. And that armor may even reduce medical failure damage!

Not sure what you do when you eat some instant noodles ? Do you eat the wraping too ? :-)
The helmet/armor is just the wraping it is in the way to get the good stuff, so it need be gone.

I wonder, if you amputate someone's arms wearing a button down shirt....does it become a tshirt?
