Error Generating Map

Hello,

The game was running fine on a previous save, when I went to create a new game, the game threw an error that there was an error generating the map. This is not the world map, but the actual game map, I am able to get through all the steps, select my colonists to start with and hit next, the game loads, manages to get to 90%, and then throws the error.

Again, all of these mods have worked just fine on a previous save without any issues.

Hi,
do you know mods can have updates too? That can cause new error's or mod conflicts.
But the log is full of error's, i am surprised you didn't got problems before.

When you start Rimworld or activate mods you shouldn't have any errors (red text) at the log window. To see the log window you need to enable developer mode at the options, then the top left icon.
Try to eliminate the error by disabling the mod who cause it and report it to the mod author.
Some error's you easyly can assign to a mod like
QuoteCould not resolve cross-reference: No Verse.ThingDef named Android1Tier found to give to Verse.PawnKindDef AndroidT1RaiderFactionSpecific
others not.
My common suggestion are to rebuild the modlist and just activate the mods at small batches so you notice these errors early.

Hello, yes, I knew that mods can have updates, but I didn't consider it a problem until it failed to load a new game. I will go through the list and try to eliminate red text and get back to you. Is yellow text acceptable?

Yes yellow are just warnings and can be ignored.

Got it to work, now I have an issue with the fast forward not working like it did. When I go to 3x speed, its like the game is at 1x speed from before. and at 1x speed it appears to be going in slow motion. This was upon generating 2 new maps, restarting the game, restarting PC.

You made it that you don't have any error's at Rimworld startup anymore or do you manage it to generate a new map ?
Sorry, but any error show that something isn't working correct. So better don't use mods that cause errors even when you would like to have it.
Report it to the mod author, he should fix his mod or point at another mod that let his mod create that errors.
It is frustration mosttimes to get a working modlist, but better get the trouble before you start a new colony then later when some error's prevent you from playing or even loading a safegame.
Not only because a mod is at the workshop it mean it is tested well and works perfect.

1. There are no errors in red anymore.

2. I was then able to start a new map correctly.



New issue:

The fast forward buttons at the bottom do not work correctly now though. The 3x speed is significantly slower than before.

Do you use SmartSpeed maybe?
Post a new log, after loading the safegame/generating map, maybe it show more.

I did not use Smartspeed originally, I downloaded it to see if it improved anything, and it did not. The 3x and 4x were the same exact speed.

I will post a log when I am home. I am assuming this is pulled from dev mode while in game? Thanks.

I think you use hugslib too, since many other mods need it, you can press CTRL-F12 to create an logupload with modlist and patches. Just post the link you got.
