Sorry if this has been asked before, searched for this but nothing relevant came up.

Simple question, do melee weapons have a better incap chance then ranged weapons? And if they do, does that vary between different type of melee weapons? If I beat a guy with a club, he'd get a concussion, sure, but he'd have a better chance of surviving then if I slashed him with a knife.

If not, a little mechanic like this would add so much incentive to use melee weapons. ;)

I love the mindset of gamers. Given a new feature to help keep our people alive and make the game more realistic, the first thing we think of is a way to kill people with it

Actually, clubs are deadly. Sure swords cut you, but there's a reason those were used in medieval times...

And that reason is that nothing protects against blunt damage as well as it protects against piercing damage. Well, armor wise, anyway.

I think melee does actually give you a greater chance of incapacitating someone, but with weapons I think that is decreased (not sure though).
I've actually been seeing people using melee a lot more since weapons came out.

Lost Cause

Well I pitted a fighter with 11 melee, 2 bionic legs, 2 bionic claw hands and full power armour against a monkey.
The monkey won v.v
It doesn't matter how many arms a colonist has as long as one of them is a Minigun!

My melee fighter, does have a preference for cutting legs off assaulters, now that you make me think about it...
