Rimworld on steam?

Tynan i just want to ask when do You plan to put Rimworld on Steam if ever? Do You want to put on Steam? I mean what's the issue? Are You afraid releasing Rimworld to Steam?

Steam would introduce Rimworld to new audience and way more ppl would get access to Rimworld, wouldn't it be great?

He already answered this along the lines of because he doesn't want the automatic updates for alphas to break players saves. Some players chose to not update their game until their colony is toast. Auto updates would force players to update.

Yes you can disable them but most players are too lazy or just won't.
Also, the community here is pretty good as it is, no need for millions of players spamming the forums with the same questions day in and day out.

It'll be released on steam when tynan feels it's ready.

if you buy it at here when the game is avalible on steam what will happen to the people who buy it

Nothing will change.
We'll still get our DRM-free copies and those that have it on steam will get their Steam copies.

If you ask your friend for his game, that would be considered theft. You need to buy the game from the one of the two sites to actually own the game. Now if your friend allows you to play occasionally on his computer that is a different story.

Yes you can get your friend to buy the game for you. Just get him to send an email to [email protected] with the Order ID and your email address after he's bought your copy and we can set it up so you receive the update emails.

In all honesty though, those two options are the only two options. At least until Tynan figures it's the correct time to put it up on Steam.
