Since we have no water feature:
It needs to get really hot, f.e. everything outside burns down or a big solar beam wanders around and changes sand or dirt to glass and destroys everything in its way.

6 Medicine and 3 Crafting
The pawn needs to be a crafter but medicine gets skilled.
I don't think the product quality gets affected. (Like food poisining.)

I recently started a thread about it and the user 14m1337 posted a possible solution in it. If you unassign the medical bed, you can rescue the pawn and he will be treated on another bed. But I didn't get a chance to test it yet.

I have had another experience on my last two maps. There was always at least one large plasteel vein but very little of gold, jade etc. And mechs give a lot of it.
But either way it would be nice to have an alternative like crafting it out of silver and steel.

With ff off you can send in your melees while shooting rockets or grens at them enemies.
