Here we are again! The time we come and ask: who among you is man/woman enough to be a tester for RimWorld Alpha 11 and possibly future versions beyond?

If you're willing to test and do the work involved in finding and properly writing up bugs, please post below and say so!

You should note, again, that this doesn't just mean 'play Alpha 11 early'. Don't apply if you're not willing to spend some time investigating bugs you find and writing clear reports about them. Testing is rewarding but it's not just playing games.

Please ensure your forum email matches your purchase email.

Thanks in advance!

I would love to, if you need more information just shoot me an email or pm.

Thoon Hulk

I'd love to!  I've been an addict since I found the game, it is exactly the sim I was looking for.  I enjoy it so much, helping out by testing feels like a moral obligation.

Sign me up!  I'd love to help make this awesome game better!

Sign me right up! I spend several solid hours playing Rimworld anyway and would love to help contribute to make it even better!

Will there be a specific list of things to try or will it be play it and find bugs?

Grubfist

I don't have much experience, how would bug reports be written?

Would want to know these 2 points as well.
I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. StorymasterQ

I would enjoy helping out, and writing up the bugs I find.

Everyone whose email address was actually listed as having bought the game has been added as a tester. Please go over to the public tester forum, read the entire "read me first" thread (lots of people skip this and it gets embarrassing), and grab the game.

The call is still open to additional people.

The Read Me First thread better explains exactly how you go about doing this, but no, there usually isn't a specific list. Although sometimes an odd bug may pop-up that is hard to reproduce, and everyone gets asked to help try and find reproduction steps for that bug.

Here's a copy/paste of part of the Read Me First thread on the public tester forum regarding how to write and submit bug reports:

QuoteTry the game out, find bugs, and post them as threads here. Post one bug per thread. Before you post, check that the bug isn't present in a thread or in the Mantis Bugtracker first.

Bugs should be posted with reproduction steps. Don't just say something went wrong - isolate it and find the shortest sequence of actions to make it go wrong again. This way, I can reproduce the bug, which is always the first step to fixing it. Obviously there are cases where this isn't necessary ("The grenade icon is wrong"), but for bugs that require actions to create, always post repro steps.

Only post technical bugs. Balance change and feature requests should go on the forum - usually the public forum.

As noted above, please also post savegame files and output logs when appropriate.
