Parkas

it's the middle of summer and I need to make 8 parkas before winter.... (yes I have 8 colonists....) I have one tamed muffalo and it doesn't look like I'm going to easily tame the rest of the herd. What's the fastest/best way to get enough leather/fabric before then?

Depending on which biome you're in, you may not need parkas. (Wool) tuques may be enough. Have a look in this thread for some info about clothes and temperature.

If it isn't too cold, just kill the untamed muffalos, butcher them and made parka's out their leather.
If you realy need the wool for very low temp. its too late anyway. If you still got wood, made a campfire in a small room to keep them a bit warm.

If the biome permits, cotton works just fine as a cheap and disposable clothing material
