Amputations and Surgery?

Hey guys,

I'm having a weird thing in my game where I can't amputate or harvest limbs for no good reason (meaning, I wanna take some prisoner's legs, but I can't).

Anyone else noticed this?

unless you are using a mod i don't think you can harvest limbs. the only things you can harvest are liver, heart, kidney and lung.

you can replace limbs and eyes with bionics but AFAIK the replaced body parts are just discarded.

If I remember correctly, you can only amputate a body part if it is infected. As the poster before me said, "harvesting" things other than organs doesn't work at all (at least in vanilla). What you should always be able to do is replace it with peg legs though.

Can you add a peg leg, and then remove it?

In B18 you can remove bionics and peg legs in vanilla. And keep them. Still need medicine, and the part needs to be uninjured.

silly question, but you can't select to add prosthetic legs or bionic legs without a prosthetic leg or bionic leg on the map.

The same is true of peg legs and WOOD.

Do you have any wood in your stockpile?  If not, no peg legs.

And with some medicine mod's you need to craft peg legs first.

I hope we can do a simple surgery on animal like add peg leg or bionic eye in vanilla already.

A dog's said is great but a little bit too op in my opinion.

Gives me an idea for a mod. 
Something limited that allows harvesting of the limbs and the eyes on top of what the base game allows. There's a couple harvest everything mods out there but they seem a tad excessive for this need.
