I have noticed in the change log that Tynan has only had one day off in the last 18 days! Personally I think he needs a day off. Please vote.

Edit: yes Tynan, the community is now telling you how to organise your personal life ;)

Amaror

He normally takes his weekends off. Besides he's an adult, i think he knows perfectly well when he needs time of and when he doesn't. It would be one think if he did this for more than a month but 2 weeks of work everyday won't kill you. I just finished my bachelor thesis and have been working on it without a single day of for 2 months, i know.
I think he's perfectly capable of taking care of himself.

Somehow I think Tynan considers developing Rimworld a form of break in its own -- perhaps not in the restful manner but the feeling of accomplishment, and my it certainly is an accomplishment.

Yes, I am joking really in the post I don't seriously expect him to organise his life around what we ask him to do on the forum.

Shinzy

A break? but he's a rob- OH! I see! pretending we wouldn't know he's a- Oh! Dazzie! you're absolute genious

Yes I think he totally needs a break! ofcourse ehehe! Because he's a human and humans need breaks! that's.. how it ..goes! I need breaks too and
*Would whistle if could -> innocently*
Hmm?

Tumuel

I am pretty sure it is not up to us to decide when he gets a day off, he is a responsible human being, he can look after himself.

Also, what sort of immoral person would vote "no" in this?

litlbear

Of course he deserves as much time off as he wants, he's a human being and he's doing a great job with the game.  Anyone who voted "no" needs to have their disgusting ass kicked.
yes

I've always idly wondered, do game devs ever play their own game when relaxing? Or do they end up criticising their game, identifying nuances and nitpicking quirks until they've sucked the enjoyment out?

Ah, that's pretty much exactly what happens with Tynan then.

Igabod

NEVER! We should chain him to his desk and force him to work on the game 24/7 until he finally collapses from sheer exhaustion. The we should zap him with a cattle prod to wake him up and force him to continue working. Rinse and repeat until either the game is finished or Tynan is a skeleton collecting dust. :-p

No but seriously, on the days when he needs a break he probably just does a small bug fix and calls it a day. All those entries for "Various bug fixes and adjustments" don't necessarily have to be a full 8 hour work day.

Should I be amused or disappointed that the poll was actually leading with "No"?

BetaSpectre

Should he? Yes he should and I'm sure he does.

"Like forever" *sigh*, some people....its not a content update its the next version of an alpha. He could have not bothered and just still been in closed development. If you can't wait you shouldn't have bought in. Capiche. :)
