I wanted to start a Hardcore game, but forgot at the start.

Is there a way to change the game during play, because I really like the status so far ..

Hardcore, hardcore, did you mean permadeath/no extra safegame ?
No you can't disable/enable that during the game , or the whole thing would be pointless.

SpaceDorf

Disable I get .. yes I meant permadeath .. hardcore ..

I thought some flag in the savegame would be possible :(

Pretty easy ;)  Delete save on death.

I usually do this in most games anyways since a game breaking bug on permadeath is annoying.  Rimworld seems stable enough, though.

Edit: Oh removing it.  hmmm.. I dunno.  You can backup your save though by just copy and pasting it I assume.

No I meant adding .. not disabling.
I am not strong enough to withstand the temptation of reload but it starts to bug me ..

I just quick copied that out of my current permadeaath save.

This here is from a normal save.

You should be able to add the permadeath info in. I could be wrong as I haven't tried it. So if it breaks things sorry. I'd try it on another save first.

OKAY so I just tried it. I created a save in normal mode then put in the permadeath stuff and it caused no errors on load. There isn't an guarantee it'd work perfectly forever but it worked
Don't mind the questions. I'm probably just confused.

Jaxxa

As always when manually modifying save files, best to make a backup first.

minimurgle

Oh definitely. Thanks for pointing that out Jaxxa. I would've felt bad if something happened after I forgot to mention that.

Thanks minimurgle  :)

No need for the backup warning, after explaining how I could have easily looked up the problem for myself I am allready ashamed enough ..

Also I will start the next colony in Hardcore .. this one allready crashed and burned.
( literally, Chrashlanding FTW ! )
